If it stalls ? it has already stalled and is a total mess. No new upscale business as promised next will be a Walmart or some other such business to further downgrade Temple Terrace.

Our community has worked over a decade to bring our dreams to fruition. The last thing we need is another strip center. The foundation for a long-term economically viable project depends on it being New Urbanism, where the residents can live, work & play without having to travel anywhere. Retail MUST be an integral part of the residential component. 1st floor retail, 2nd floor offices, 3rd floor residences. This is the model. Apartments are necessary, but they MUST comform to the theme. This was all detailed in the MDA that Vlass signed.

The stall we have seen is due to the overall economy, not the viability of the project. Look around when you travel to different cities and you will see exactly what we want, thriving. Hard to rent and sell what doesn't exist, although I would think an exciting marketing website would be a logical investment for Vlass to make ASAP. Let's all get on the same page in this town... there was a unanimous voice on the City Council that reflected the will of the citizens. That seems clear. It is not a question of what has happened in the past... what matters now is to work the details out and get buildings going up. Can't wait to walk around those new stores and public spaces.

"The stall we have seen is due to the overall economy." ?? You have got to be kidding me. Phase II should be done, or almost done and not a thing has been touched. Phase III has now been shot down with Vlass' supposed final proposal, Smith words, not mine. The STALL everyone is talking about is the big green meadow on the corner. Vlass is not going to spend one red cent of their own money above and beyond the bare essentials. The marketing budget for 1st floor retail shows us that. I would bet council and city staff are on pins and needles waiting for the next shoe to drop. Let's keep our fingers crossed this goes well.
