Early Voting Days Reduced to 8

Hillsborough County will offer early voting for the General Election Oct. 27 to Nov. 3.

The Department of Justice has approved the Early Voting portion of House Bill 1355 that reduces the number of days for Early Voting from 14 to eight.

Early Voting for the General Election in Hillsborough County will now start on Saturday, Oct. 27, and end on Saturday, Nov. 3. Early Voting will occur for eight straight days and the hours each day will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Remember to bring a valid photo and signature ID when you go to vote.

Examples of acceptable valid photo ID include:

  • Florida driver license
  • Florida ID card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
  • Debit or credit Card
  • Military ID
  • Student ID
  • Retirement center ID
  • Neighborhood association ID
  • Public assistance ID

The last day to register to vote for the 2012 General Election is Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The Supervisor of Elections Office has opened a call center at the Robert L. Gilder Elections Service Center in anticipation of an increase in calls from voters who have election-related questions.

The call center will handle questions concerning voter eligibility, location of polling sites and updating of information for voters. The center will also assist with Vote By Mail requests and information concerning Early Voting and Election Day voting.
