County Announces 4th of July Closings

Regional parks will remain open.

Closed facilities include the administrative offices of county government, neighborhood service centers, libraries, county-operated Head Start/Early Head Start Centers, senior centers and nutrition sites.

  • Animal Services - Animal Services’ shelter is regularly closed on Mondays. A limited number of personnel will be on call for animal emergencies; call 813-744-5660 for assistance.
  • Constitutional Offices - Offices of the Property Appraiser, Tax Collector and Supervisor of Elections will be closed July 4. Offices of the Clerk of the Circuit Court and court facilities also will be closed.
  • Fire Rescue - Fire Rescue Administration and the Fire Marshall Office’s will be closed on July 4. All emergency services will continue.
  •  InfoL!ne - Hillsborough County's InfoL!ne will be closed July 4.
  • Parks, Recreation and Conservation - All County recreation centers will be closed July 4. Regional parks will remain open. Regional parks include Aldermans Ford, Edward Medard, E.G. Simmons, Eureka Springs, Flatwoods, John B. Sergeant, Lake Park, Lake Rogers, Lettuce Lake, Lithia Springs, Morris Bridge, Trout Creek, Upper Tampa Bay, and Upper Tampa Bay Trail. 
  • Solid Waste Collection - There will be no solid waste collection – including garbage, recyclables and yard waste – in the unincorporated Hillsborough County Service Area July 4. Solid waste customers may set out twice the amount of garbage, recyclables and yard waste on their next scheduled day for pick up of these items. The Southeast County Landfill, Northwest and South County Transfer Facilities, Resource Recovery Facility, Hillsborough Heights Community Collection Center, and the Alderman Ford Community Collection Center will be closed.
  • Sunshine Line - The Sunshine Line transportation service will not be in operation July 4, and will resume service the next day. 
  • Water and Wastewater Emergencies - Emergency calls regarding County water and wastewater service may be made to 813-744-5600. Also, the Public Utilities Department’s Water Quality Hotline is answered 24 hours a day. That number is 813-264-3835.
