Burgin Announces Members of Grassroots Leadership Team

The current state representative plans to run for the District 24 state Senate seat.

Following her announcement that she plans to file to run for the state Senate, state Rep. Rachel Burgin, R-Riverview, has named the members of her grassroots leadership team.

Over the weekend, Burgin declared her intention to run for the District 24 Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Ronda Storms, R-Valrico. Last week, Storms announced her plans to abandon her bid for reelection to the Senate to run for Hillsborough County property appraiser.

Burgin will run against former Senate President Tom Lee, R-Brandon, who announced his intention to run for the Senate seat last week.

Since making her announcement, Burgin said she's been pleased with the support she's receiving.

“I am overwhelmed and encouraged by the outpouring of support I have received since announcing my plans to run for the Florida Senate," she said.
