Alafia Republicans Walk to Win

Members of the club will go door to door in the FishHawk Ranch area seeking volunteers.

With the election season approaches, members of the Alafia Republican Club are ramping up its activity, planning a door-to-door campaign to enlist volunteers along with a sign-waving event.

On June 23 at 9:30 a.m., Alafia Republicans will gather in the Publix parking lot on FishHawk Boulevard to walk door to door throughout FishHawk Ranch to enlist volunteers.

"We want to grow our army as we gather momentum for a crushing Republican victory in November," said club president, Jeff Lukens.

Alafia Republicans also will be out in force June 28 at 5 p.m. when they conduct a sign-waving campaign at the corner of Bloomingdale Avenue and Lithia-Pinecrest Road in Valrico. Those wishing to join the event are encouraged to gather at the Hess station. There will be candidate fliers available to hand out to motorists.

"This sign-waving campaign will give conservatives the opportunity to make personal contact and give everyone a chance to make a difference and get in the game to defeat Obama," said Lukens. "Hundreds will pass during rush hour from 5 to 7 p.m. It could build to something big by November."

The club will meet Monday, June 25 at Beef O' Brady's, 4330 Bell Shoals Rd., Valrico, for a social at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
