Valrico Man Faces 20 Counts of Possessing Child Pornography

A Valrico man is facing 20 counts of possession of child pornography after the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office found computer files depicting children engaged in sexual activities.

Derek Michael Morgan, 24, of 2830 Buckhorn Preserve Blvd., Valrico, admitted to downloading the pornography when questioned by detectives.

Detectives with the Internet Predator Unit discovered the pornographic computer files executing a search warrant on Morgan's Valrico home Oct. 24 following a two-month-long investigation.

During the search, detectives seized four computer and digital media items. Subsequent computer forensic revealed that Morgan, was in possession of files depicting children approximately 13 years old and younger engaged in sexual activities.

Morgan was also in possession of child pornography files that he made
available for download.

Morgan was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.
