Riverview Man Crashes Beer Truck on Gandy Bridge

The truck hit a concrete barrier on the bridge.

Eastbound lanes of the the Gandy Bridge were shut down due for more than two hours due to a traffic crash, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. 

A tractor trailer operated by J & J Taylor Distributing of Tampa, was eastbound in the outside lane on the Gandy Bridge about one mile east of 4th Street North, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver, Jeremy Nicholas Greathouse of Riverview, lost control of the truck and hit the outside concrete railing, then traveled across both lanes. The vehicle then collided with the inside concrete railing, where it stopped. The truck blocked all eastbound lanes on the bridge for two hours, according to FHP.

The contents of the Miller Lite truck were not damaged in the crash, FHP said.

The last sentence cracked me up: "The contents of the Miller Lite truck were not damaged in the crash, FHP said." HALELUJAH !!! HALELUJAH !!! HALELUJAH !!! The driver would have been tarred and feathered and run out of Riverview on a rail if even one can of his cargo had spilled. ~
