Riverview Man, 25, Killed in I-4 Crash in Osceola County

Angel Velazquez was ejected from his SUV as it overturned while he tried to exit Interstate 4 onto U.S. 192, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 25-year-old Riverview man was killed early Monday morning when he lost control of his SUV while exiting Interstate 4 in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Angel Velazquez was traveling westbound on I-4 around 3 a.m. Monday and attempting to exit onto U.S. 192 "at a high rate of speed," according to a crash report. His 2002 Chevy overturned, and Velazquez was ejected when the vehicle hit a guardrail. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

There were four other passengers in the car at the time of the crash, including a 23-year-old Brandon man who suffered critical injuries and another man who sustained serious injuries. Both were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Another passanger, a 20-year-old Riverview woman, left the scene on foot "for reasons unknown at this time" and was later found by Osceola County deputies, according to the report. She was taken to Celebration Hospital along with the fourth passenger, a 22-year-old woman. Both of them suffered minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation, FHP said. It is unknown if alcohol played a part.
