The Lithia resident is charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device.

The parent of a Pinecrest Elementary School student was arrested yesterday after reportedly threatening to blow up her child's school.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Jessica Schauer, 26, of 623 Wendel Ave., Lithia, was visiting Pinecrest Elementary School on Lithia-Pinecrest Road Wednesday, Dec. 19, and reportedly said, "Don't bring your kid to school that day."

When asked "which day," she replied, "The day I blow it up."

Her comments were heard by two people who told the principal. The principal contacted the sheriff's office.

Schauer was arrested at her home Dec. 20 at about 11 a.m. and charged with one count of threatening to discharge a destructive device.
