Missing Soldier Case Leads To Hillsborough County

HCSO detectives are investigating the discovery of a vehicle belonging to an Army soldier who was reported missing from Fort Stewart, Ga.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating the discovery of a vehicle belonging to an Army soldier who was reported missing from Fort Stewart, Ga.

On Saturday morning, deputies were dispatched to the vehicle, a brown Toyota
Corolla, located abandoned on Interstate 75 beneath the Leroy Selmon
Expressway.

Jerry James Beck, 36, was reported missing by his family last week.nThe Toyota was tagged as abandoned by the Florida Department of Transportation's Road Rangers on April 27, and on Saturdaythe car was linked to the missing person report and HCSO was notified.

Deputies used dogs and a helicopter to search the area without success. There
were no signs of foul play in the vehicle, and the keys were left inside.
