Homicide Investigated at Valrico Home Where Man's Body was Found

A burglary was reported at the Erin Brooke Drive home where a robbery was reported Tuesday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports.

Deputies have identified the victim as Samuel Lee Partin, 61, of 1915 Erin Brooke Dr.

Detectives are investigating a homicide after a man's body was found inside a Valrico home where a burglarly was reported Tuesday afternoon, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports.

Deputies responded to the home at 1915 Erin Brooke Dr. around 4:20 p.m. after one of the homeowners discovered "what appeared to be a residential burglary" and immediately exited to call the sheriff's office, according to a media release.

The first deputy to arrive searched the house and discovered a man's body in one of the bedrooms.

The body, which was turned over to the Medical Examiners Office around 11:30 p.m. after detectives secured a search warrant, had suffered "trauma to the body," the release states.

The body has not yet been identified, "although it is believed to be one of the homeowners," according to the release.

A cause of death has not yet been determined.

The investigation continues.

Homicide detectives are on the scene at a Valrico home where a man's body was discovered, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports.

Detectives have secured the home at 1915 Erin Brooke Dr., and are writing a search warrant, the sheriff's office said in a media release sent shortly before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27.

"Once the warrant is complete, detectives will re-enter the residence and process the scene," sheriff's office spokesperson Debbie Carter said in the release.
