Lithia Home Destroyed by Fire

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 22 to reports of a fully involved house fire on Thompson Road.

Fire investigators remain on the scene of a fire that destroyed a Lithia home earlier today, Jan. 22.

According to Fire Rescue public information officer Nacole Revette, firefighters responded to reports of a fire at 645 Thompson Rd. around 9:30 a.m. to find the two-story house fully engulfed in flames.

The owners, who have not been identified, were out of town when the fire broke out.

Revette said eight Fire Rescue units responded to the fire. The units included four tanker trucks because there are no active fire hydrants in that area of rural Lithia.

Revette said it took several hours to get the fire under control.
