Bloomingdale Woman Dies in Bayshore Motorcycle Crash

She was wearing a helmet when she lost control of her motorcycle.

Early Monday morning, a Bloomingdale resident lost control of her motorcycle on Bayshore Boulevard and died following the crash.

Kristi Nicole Phifer, 29, was wearing her helmet while riding her 2013 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle south on Bayshore Boulevard around 6:40 a.m. June 3. As she approached Orleans Avenue, she entered the bicycle lane and hit the curb, according to Tampa Police.

Once she hit the curb, she lost control of the motorcycle after going through some standing water. She was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a concrete monument, police said.

Phifer, who lived on River Crossing Drive, was taken to Tampa General Hospital where she died from her injuries.
