Bloomingdale Resident Gets Probation in Nov. 10 Accident on Natures Way

Nicole Petracci's family reportedly asked the judge for leniency.

A Bloomingdale West resident has been sentenced to six years of probation after pleading no contest to a vehicular manslaughter charge Sept. 1 in an accident that killed a 19-year-old Bloomingdale East woman.

According to sheriff's office reports, Addison Strzalka, 20, was driving at least 83 mph on Nov. 10 when he lost control of his truck on Natures Way Boulevard and hit a tree.

His passenger, Nicole Petracci, 19, of Valrico, was ejected and died at the scene.

The daughter of Glenn and Christina Petracci, she was a Bloomingdale High graduate who attended Hillsborough Community College.

Judge Ashley Moody was reportedly swayed by a letter written by Petracci's family urging her to not send Strzalka to jail, the St. Petersburg Times reports.
