Volusia County Sheriff’s Deputies got more than they
bargained for Friday, June 13, when they pulled over a man on a seatbelt
Christopher Mitchell, 42, told deputies he couldn’t wear the belt because of his size, The Tampa Tribune reported. The deputy, however, noticed that Mitchell and the vehicle’s driver appeared “nervous.”
When the cops decided to call in a drug dog, things got really strange.
Deputies found cocaine and more than 20 grams of marijuana hidden under Mitchell’s stomach fat, the Tribune reported. Mitchell is estimated to weigh about 450 pounds.
Volusia County Jail records indicate Mitchell faces a possession of cannabis charge. He is no longer in custody.
