Services Set for Longtime Resident

Elsie Panchuk died Nov. 8 at the age of 89.

A memorial service for longtime Brandon resident Elsie Panchuk will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview. 

Panchuk died Thursday, Nov. 8 at the age of 89.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina, and her husbands, Harry Panchuk and Dr. Nicholas Moskaluk.

She is survived by her daughter, Sophia Moskaluk, and family in Germany.

Panchuk immigrated to the United States in 1949 and became an American citizen. She moved to Brandon in 1958.

She was a founding member of Epiphany of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church in St. Petersburg where she volunteered as a member of the Ladies Guild and the choir.

She worked as a bookkeeper for La Monte Shimberg Builders for many years.

A talented seamstress, knitter and counted-cross-stitch embroiderer, she won numerous ribbons at the Florida State Fair for her handmade creations.

Well known for her kind and generous spirit, she loved flowers and enjoyed watching the birds, butterflies and squirrels in her garden.

Interment will follow at a later date at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pinellas County.
