Services Set for Community Volunteer

Mary S. Elza died Monday at the age of 80.

Funeral services for Mary S. Elza of Valrico are scheduled Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 3315 Bryan Rd., Brandon.

She'd been a resident of the area since 1999, moving to Valrico from Pasadena, Md. During her 13 years in Valrico, she quickly become involved in the community as an active member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, the Lions Club and as a volunteer for the Emergency Care Help Organization in Brandon.

In between her volunteer work, she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Delmar Harold. 

Survivors include her daughters, Mary "Nan" Nawrocki and Bonita "Boni" Elza Bacaicua,; sisters, Ruth Fling, Gladys (EH) Collins and Edna Jean Brendle; three grandchildren, Christina (John) Bonaccorse, Victoria Ann George and Darren (Whitney) George; and three great-grandchildren, Haylie Michelle George, Colten Xavier George and Presten Russell George.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, at Serenity Meadow Funeral Home in Riverview from 6 to 8 p.m.

Following the funeral service on Saturday, burial will take place at Serenity Meadow Memorial Park.
