Services Planned For Bloomingdale's Steven Subler

Steven Subler died July 2 at the age of 70.

A Christian celebration of life will take place Thursday, July 11 for Bloomingdale East resident Steven D. Subler.

Subler died at his home, surrounded by his family, July 2 at the age of 70.

Subler was born on Oct. 25, 1942, in Versailles, Ohio, the son of the late Carl and Pauline (Barga) Subler.

He was a graduate of Versailles High School and grew up in the family-owned trucking business, Carl Subler Trucking Inc. After many years as vice president of maintenance at CSTI, he and his wife, Charlene, purchased and operated their own trucking and maintenance business in Versailles, Ohio, Fleet Maintenance Center Inc. 

The couple retired to Florida in 2002.

Subler enjoyed his family, friends, golfing, politics and traveling. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlene (Phlipot) Subler; four daughters and their spouses, Lori and William Miller of Sugar Land, Texas, Diane and Chris Bush of Valrico, Jill and Bob Klorer of Tampa and Jennifer and Joel Stevens of Darien, Conn.; 10 grandchildren, Bethany, Sarah, Emma, Steven, Jonathan, Caroline, Conner, Katelyn, Jacob and Jane; brothers and sisters, Tom and Nancy Subler, Dennis and Nancy Subler, Marilyn (Subler) and the late Hal Richters of Versailles, Ohio, Kay (Subler) and Darryl Sandri of Piqua, Ohio, Linda (Subler) and Chuck Borchers of Cincinnati and Mark and Jolene Subler of Midlothian, Va.

His celebration of life will take place at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with a chapel service from 6 to 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice of Hillsborough County and the Wounded Warrior Project.
