Riverview Fish Farmer Dies

Services will take place Aug. 1 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home.

Family and friends will gather Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview to say goodbye to Irwin "Irv" Barshinger Trout. 

Trout died July 27 at the age of 69. 

He was born Sept. 14, 1944, in Red Lion, PA, to parents Harry and Edith Trout. He received his bachelor of education at Mansfield State College and earned his master of education at Weston Maryland University. 

After his career teaching history, he owned and operated the Fish-Co-Op in Riverview. He was a Life Member of Red Lion Elks for 43 years and a sports enthusiast supporting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Rays.  

In June he celebrated 43 years of marriage to love of his life, Linda Duncan Trout.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Todd Trout and his wife Andrea Trout, Eric Trout and Scot Trout: grandchildren Alexa Trout, Adam Trout, Evelyn Trout and Westley Trout; an aunt, Ann Barshinger; a cousin, Jim Trout and his wife Judy Trout; and an adopted black lab named Minnie.  

Visitation will take place one hour before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to C.A.R.E. Animal Shelter 1528 27th St. S.E., Ruskin, FL  33570.
