Lifelong Riverview Resident Dies

Daniel Howard Williams Jr. died July 20 at the age of 87.

Services for Daniel Howard Williams Jr. of Riverview will take place Friday, July 26 at 11 a.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview with a visitation at 10 a.m.

Williams died July 20 at the age of 87.

Williams was a chief dredge boat engineer and worked his entire career for Hendry Corp. Born and raised on the Alafia River, he was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anna Mae Williams; daughters, Frances Lee Williams, Mary Alice Zaleski and Tamara Michelle Newsome; granddaughters, Lauren Alexa McVoy, Ashley Nicole Smith and Shawna Michelle Newsome; and great-granddaughter. Ellie Nichole Smith.

He is also survived by sisters, Bessie Mae Miller and Clara Marlene Mathias.

Williams was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Charles, William and Lesley “Heck” Williams and sisters, Pauline Hall, Lorene Walls and Daisy Evelyn Bailey.
