Christmas Tree Sales to Benefit Knights of Columbus Charities

The Knights of Columbus are selling Christmas trees through Dec. 18 at St. Stephen Catholic School off Boyette Road.

If getting a Christmas tree is still on your to-do list this holiday season, drop by the Christmas tree lot operated by the Knights of Columbus St. Stephen Council No. 14084 at St. Stephen Catholic School, 10424 St. Stephen Circle, Riverview, off Boyette Road.

The tree lot is open Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 18.

The trees are fresh-cut from Dutchmen Christmas Tree Farms in northern Michigan. A variety of kinds and sizes are available.

This is the second year the fraternal organization has sold Christmas trees. The St. Stephen Council was chartered in 2006 and now has more than 230 members. The organization is open to Catholic men age 18 and over. The St. Stephen Council meets the first Wednesday of each month from 8 to 9:15 p.m. in the multipurpose room at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 5049 Bell Shoals Rd., Valrico.

The council contributes to a number of charities throughout the year including the San Jose Mission, the Special Olympics, the Morning Star School and LifeCare of Brandon.

All proceeds from this year's tree sale will benefit the church's "Building Our Future Together " campaign to fund a new church on the school property.
