The Regent - From The Director's Desk: South Shore Symphony Orchestra Concert Series and Art Exhibits

The Regent annouces upcoming 7 part Symphony series and the line up for the summer Art Exhibits. Read up on how you can be become an Exhibitor! Read up on our non-profit rates and current promotion!

It is with unabated excitement and anticipation that I announce the ever-growing list of community events, the most recent being a 7 concert series by the South Shore Symphony Orchestra (SSSO).  It'll be wonderful to have a symphony here in the backyard of this bustling community.  We are so proud to be the home to this most kind and talented ensemble and what a tremendous opportunity for the SSSO and our local residents!  The first symphony is July 1 from 2 - 5 pm in our ballroom.  All concerts will be from 2 - 5 pm and will unfold on the following days:  Aug 5, Sept 16, Oct 28, Dec 16, Feb 10 and March 24The SSSO flyer is posted for your reference.

We continue to host Art Exhibits.  The exhibit space is free to the artist and viewing is free to the community.  Our current exhibit features Todd Holm whose works will remain on display in our community room and will remain on display until July 7, 2012.  It is free to view the works and the space will be available for people to view the exhibit Tuesday - Friday's 8:30 am - 6:30 pm.  The Regent will host a casual "Meet the Artist" reception on June 21 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm in the community room so people have the opportunity to visit with Todd and to view and discuss his works. It's a casual, come and go as you please reception.  The exhibit space is free to the artist so we can keep it free to the community.  We often are asked about the process.  It's easy!  For those that are interested, the montly artist submission form is downloadable from our community website and I also attached it to this blog.  All you have to do is submit the proper documentation and complete the submission form for consideration.  We then reach out to the artist to determine the best month for their exhibit and to work out a date for the Meet the Artist reception that is conducive with their schedules.  What do we do in terms of bringing awareness to the artist's exhibit?  The Regent will create a flyer and post in the facility as well as post the exhibit information on our community page, facebook page, and disseminate to the press to assist with exposure.  Artists can sell their work and if The Regent receives such inquiries on purchases, we put the requestor in direct contact with the exhibitor to
handle directly.

Upcoming scheduled exhibits are Maria Rojas in July and Joel Santana takes stage in August.  The artist submission form to be considered for for an exhibit is located at our community website and on site in our offices.  www.experiencetheregent.com/community  I've attached it to this post for your easy reference.

A reminder about our room rental rates and that is we have two price points under our hourly rates, discounted non-profit rate and standard.  We are currently running a special where our weekend evening rates will be discounted for those who book now through November 23, 2012.

I receive inquiries on a fairly constant basis about who exactly is using the space, as it pertains to non-profit and similar community groups and organizations.  I am happy to parlay that aside from the private wedding ceremonies and receptions, birthday parties, and other such celebratory and commemorative functions, we have been home to numerable community-related events. Please take the time to acquaint yourselves with the variety of entities that have hosted events here with us! It was a pleasure working with all of them and I am grateful for the opportunity to meet and work with all of them.  As you will see from this list, our spaces are quite flexible and non-profit rates enable these groups to help attain their respective goals:
