Hunger-Relief Forum To Feature National Geographic Photographer

The Mosaic Co. is hosting the forum to spearhead a regional conversation about hunger relief efforts and the need to create a sustainable food supply.

In the U.S., including Florida, one in six people struggles with hunger, and more than 850 million people around the world don’t know where they will get their next meal. 

As the world population continues to increase, food security is becoming a growing concern. 

To raise awareness about this critical issue, The Mosaic Co. is hosting a Hunger-Relief Forum to spearhead a regional conversation about hunger relief efforts and the need to create a sustainable food supply.

By uniting community leaders and organizations throughout Central Florida, Mosaic intends to ignite community dialogue about food security and the valuable roles various community organizations, companies, educators and industries can play in providing solutions.

The forum will take place Friday, July 26 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Florida State Fairgrounds Florida Center, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard entrance, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.

The forum will feature keynote speaker John Stanmeyer, who will share photos and insights from his travels as a National Geographic photographer documenting the global food crisis.

The program will also include a live panel that will discuss meeting the challenges facing the local food supply. Panelists will include:

Food banks from across the region will be recognized for their efforts with a special presentation by Mosaic.
