Our Churches Targeted by the Sacrilegious Left
With the legalization of sodomitic "marriage" a possibility, the next target on the hit list of the Sacrilegious Left is our churches.
In a recent column about sodomitic “marriage” being forced down our
collective societal throat and its validity being considered by the US Supreme
Court, I pointed out how the Sacrilegious Left was presumably happy with
establishing “domestic partnerships” or “civil unions,” supposedly just so that
homosexuals could have rights regarding health care decisions for eachother,
survivorship and property rights, or access to benefits normally reserved for
spouses in valid marriages – husbands and wives of the opposite sex.
Well, they got all of that. Even among so-called “conservative” office-holders, it’s increasingly difficult to find any who haven’t caved on domestic partnerships
and civil unions. That was going to be the end of it, right?
Yeah, right.

Now the Sacrilegious Left’s been pushing - with a vengeance - for a full-blown redefinition of “marriage” as the next step on its checklist, and it very well may get it. As demonstrated by its failure to see the unconstitutionality of the Obamunist takeover of our healthcare system, the Supreme Court is no longer reliably conservative. So what’s next? What, indeed, is the end game of the Sacrilegious Left?
Our churches.

An intensified assault on Christianity is the next step. The destruction of
Christianity is the end game.
Just for the sake of argument, if the Supreme Court legitimizes sodomitic “marriage,” makes it “the law of the land” as was the case regarding abortion in 1973 with Roe v. Wade and the slaughter of the Innocent Unborn.
So, sodomitic “marriage” is made “legal” – a term rendered even more dubious as a result – and sodomites are getting “married” left and right. Society has become oh-so-tolerant and accepting, hasn’t it? Well, not all of society. There are still those hateful, intolerant Christians to deal with.
How long do you think it will take before sodomites take the next step and attempt to force “tolerance” down the throat of Christianity just as they have with society in general?
It’s already happening. In recent days, Father Greg Schaffer has been targeted by a campaign initiated by a couple of homosexual students seeking to oust him as Catholic chaplain at George Washington University in Washington, DC. The reason the homosexual students want Father Schaffer removed? He had the temerity to proclaim the Church’s teaching on homosexual behavior, that it was immoral.
Yes, I can hear the collective gasp. A Catholic priest actually articulated
Church teaching? How dare he!
This, however, is merely one small opening skirmish in the war that’s on the horizon. The big target, it will turn out, is the tax exempt status – not just of the
Catholic Church, but of all of our churches. I’m focusing here on the Catholic Church since that’s where any assaults on our religious liberties begin, and because there are some pretty glaring cases-in-point that demonstrate my points perfectly. To all my non-Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ, be patient. It won’t be long before all of our churches are so assaulted.
An even bigger indicator was the flagrant disregard for religious rights and freedom of conscience in Obamacare’s mandatory compulsion of religious groups and organizations to provide abortifacients and contraception in insurance coverage offered to hired employees. Cardinal Timothy Dolan of the Archdiocese of New York condemned this in pretty clear terms as violative of the moral tenets of Roman Catholicism. His very vocal opposition, naturally, resulted in the expected vitriol from the Sacrilegious Left. As was the case with Father Schaffer, how dare he!
More recently, with the matter of sodomitic “marriage” taking the spotlight. Cardinal Dolan, as one might expect, has been outspoken on that issue as well.
“God has told us,” the cardinal said in a recent interview, “that the way to happiness, that – especially when it comes to sexual love – that is intended only for a man and woman in marriage, where children can come about naturally.”
One blogger who claims to be a practicing “Catholic” from the Diocese of Brooklyn – who I won’t publicize here – warns that Catholic bishops “play fast and loose with their tax-exempt status at their own peril.” She goes on to attack Cardinal Dolan, posing the question, “Does Dolan not recognize how much support there is among active, practicing Roman Catholics for same-sex marriage?”
I’ve got news for her – the Catholic Church isn’t a democracy. Our bishops, pastors, and priests are bound by their sacred vows to proclaim the Gospel, and to abide by the principles of Sacred Scripture and the magisterial teaching of the Church. Since when did the flock lead the shepherd?
A recent Quinnipiac poll being waved about by the Sacrilegious Left shows 54 percent of “Catholics” being in favor of sodomitic “marriage” while 38 percent are opposed.
“Catholic voters are leading American voters toward support for same-sex marriage,” claims Peter A. Brown, the assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. What Brown leaves out, interestingly, is that this conclusion was reached via a sample size of 497 of these “Catholics” with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent. Hmm.
Even more interestingly, the Quinnipiac poll asked Catholic voters fourteen questions. On all but one the poll disaggregated the answers on the basis of church attendance. The one exception? The question about sodomitic “marriage.”
Shocking, isn’t it?
“This takes on added significance,” explained Bill Donahue, president of the Catholic League, “when we consider that four in ten of the Catholics sampled do not practice their religion. That these nominal Catholics are precisely the biggest
fans of gay marriage is a sure bet, though the poll fails to disclose the results.”
So here’s what to expect, and mark my words, it is coming. If, indeed, sodomitic “marriage” is made “legal,” before too long pairs of sodomites – test cases, as it were – will approach churches asking to be “married.” The churches will refuse. Lawsuits will be filed, contending that discrimination has taken place, citing the “equal protection” clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution, and threatening the tax exempt status of the church and/or diocese in question. The equal protection clause, of course, is supposed to apply only to state governments, but since when has anything as irrelevant as fact and
constitutional principle been allowed to stand in the way of a Godless leftist
agenda?
As I said, I’ve focused here primarily on the targeting of the Catholic Church and its teaching, based on my own personal experience and exposure, as well as on the pressure already brought to bear on the Church. The Sacrilegious Left, however, has all Christians in its crosshairs. Take to heart the words of the first chapter of Jeremiah:
“Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak to them all that I command thee. Be not afraid at their presence: for I will make thee not to fear their countenance. For behold I have made thee this day a fortified city, and a pillar of iron, and a wall of brass, over all the land . . . ”
