The East Hillsborough Democratic Club will meet Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Barnacles, 936 Providence Rd., Brandon.
The guest speaker will be Scott Hardy, Tampa Bay organizer for Service Employees International Union 1199. Medicaid expansion will be examined from the perspective of low-wage Floridians who need health care and an economy that needs the jobs that Medicaid expansion would fuel.
Also, Dr. Patrick Cannon will return to briefly share some important updates on the Affordable Care Act.
The club also will welcome candidates for office including Dee Prether, a candidate for School Board District 4, and Donna Lee Fore, a candidate for County Commissioner District 4.
