COOLEY TAMPA BAY CAMPUS PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL PANEL IN HONOR OF CONSTITUTION DAY

On Tuesday, September 17, in
honor of Constitution Day, Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Tampa Bay campus will participate in a national webcast and panel discussion hosted by The Constitution Project (TCP), a bipartisan legal watchdog group. This panel will address the role false confessions play in wrongful convictions.



TCP will also be presenting its annual Constitutional Commentary Award to filmmaker Ken Burns and his colleagues for their documentary, THE CENTRAL PARK FIVE. The documentary tells the story of five teenagers who falsely confessed and were subsequently wrongly convicted of raping a women in New York City’s Central Park. Following the award presentation, Burns will participate in the panel discussion addressing wrongful convictions.
