Don't Forget to Fall Back 1 Hour for Daylight Saving Time

These dark mornings have you wondering: When does Daylight Saving Time end?

Those 7:30 a.m. commutes will get darker before they get lighter. Officially, Daylight Saving Time doesn’t end until at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4.

Remember, you’ll “fall back” and set your clocks back one hour. Many electronic devices automatically adjust when Daylight Saving Time begins or ends.

When you change your clocks in the fall and spring, it’s also a good time to change smoke detector batteries and check to make sure device are in working order.

Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Savings Time.

It begins again on March 10, 2013.

So what will you do with the extra hour?

Here's some suggestions:

  • Take a 10-minute walk around your neighborhood. Health experts say three 10-minute spurts of activity are just as beneficial as 30 straight minutes.
  • Get your day started with some inspirational reading.
  • Make your holiday shopping list. Christmas will be here before you know it.
  • Sleep. We could all use a little extra, right?
