4. Toddler Gets Long-Awaited Kidney Transplant From Mom
A little boy who has won the hearts of the community received his life-saving kidney transplant. Two-year-old Evan Ranieri's family reported on the toddler's seven-hour surgery at Tampa General Hospital, where he received a kidney donated by his mother, Melissa. Evan was born with under-developed kidneys and has required daily dialysis treatments.
5. Higgingbotham to Bloomingdale: Let's Meet on Big Box
Hillsborough County Commissioner Al Higginbotham said he plans to meet with — "and listen to" — Bloomingdale residents opposed to big-box retail and apartment development on Bloomingdale Avenue. The meeting is set for June.
