Riverview Auto Salvage Operation Recognized for Environmental Improvements

Florida Dial-A-Part has been designated a Green Yard.

News Report

The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County (EPC) has recognized Florida Dial-A-Part for making environmental improvements in its Riverview auto salvage operation, designating it a Green Yard.

Green Yard is an industry-friendly program that encourages and helps auto salvage facilities to go above and beyond basic compliance with environmental regulations and voluntarily take greater steps to protect the environment. Salvage yards receive the Green Yard designation for meeting six criteria including: improvements in vehicle processing, waste management, training and recordkeeping, and the development of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.

“On behalf of the Environmental Protection Commission, thank you for doing your part by becoming a certified Green Yard” said EPC board chairman, Hillsborough Commissioner Kevin Beckner. "You have gone above and beyond to go the extra mile, and it has made a real difference in our community.”

Upon receiving a Certificate of Recognition and Green Yard flag at the EPC board meeting, Florida Dial-A-Part owner Mike Ingui said, “We want to do our part for the community and for the environment, to keep it clean.”
