Have plans for outdoor fun this week? You may want to consider a new plan.
The National Weather Service is calling for rain throughout much of this week in Hillsborough County.
Rain chances are at 50 percent today with a likelihood of thunderstorms and gusty winds. Those chances increase going into Thursday when they rise to about 70 percent. Rainfall up to a half-inch is expected both days.
“Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible today (Wednesday) and tonight as a frontal boundary settles into northern Florida and upper energy moves over the area,” a hazardous weather outlook report states. “Strong gusty winds ... deadly lightning and brief heavy rains will be possible with the stronger storms.”
The news is much the same for Friday and Saturday, as well. Things start to clear out a little bit on Sunday when the chance for rain drops to 40 percent.
