If You Plan to Drink, Call a Cab

If you plan to party hearty this New Year's Eve, you might want to call ahead to reserve a cab.

Debbie Piascik, owner of Dream Limousine in Valrico, said most of their vehicles are already booked for the holiday. However, she's keeping one in reserve for party-goers with emergencies.

Residents who have had a bit too much to drink and can't drive themselves home can contact Dream Limousine at 813-662-7300.

Lino Fasulo, owner of Lino's Corporate Sedan in Valrico, said he's been booked up for weeks.

"We have a very loyal clientele who are very conscious about drinking and driving, so they've made plans well ahead of time," said Fasulo.

Residents who find themselves in a fix after drinking too much can still contact Anytime Taxi in Valrico at 813-662-7888.

Brandon Taxi on 82nd Street in Tampa also will be available for rides New Year's Eve. Residents can reach Brandon Taxi at 813-628-4000.

If you'd rather not leave your car behind, the AAA "Tow To Go" program will tow revelers home even if they aren’t enrolled.

The service, run by AAA Auto Club South in partnership with Budweiser, is a free — and confidential — service for members and nonmembers alike. Call: 1-800-222-4357 (AAA-HELP).

Since 1998, "Tow To Go" has removed 11,650 drunk drivers from the roads, according to the AAA website.
