Bloomingdale Native's Op-Ed on Contraceptives Published by U.S. News & World Report

A Bloomingdale native's op-ed piece on the Obama administration's contraceptives policy was recently published by U.S. News & World Report.

Stephanie Slade's editorial, titled "Women Are Not United In Favor of the Obama Contraceptive Mandate," was published March 9.

Slade, who is from Bloomingdale, now lives and works in Washington, D.C. as project director at the Winston Group, a political strategy company.

In her opinion piece, Slade argues that it's not just a "small minority of men" who are opposed to Obama's contraceptives policy.

She writes:

"In effect, the message from those who think birth control and abortion should be freely available is that when it comes to respecting women's voices in important political debates, those who disagree with the feminist agenda need not be considered."
