Orthopedic Total Wellness?

What is Orthopedic Total Wellness?

When I am out and about in town, one of the most frequently asked questions I receive is, “What can Orthopedic Total Wellness do for me doc?”  While simple, this is a very important question, and one which could make a large impact on your life.

The Orthopedic Total Wellness (OTW) program at Florida Orthopaedic Institute is a functional medicine program which was designed to integrate the science and art of chiropractic into their orthopedic program.  This is a unique and revolutionary program which is only offered by Florida Orthopaedic Institute.

Most individuals with injuries do not require surgical intervention, however, you still need high quality care to get rid of the pain and back to your normal daily activities.  This is one area where the OTW program can help you; by working with your primary care doctor and other specialists to ensure your healing process is efficient and effective.

Other times, you may be unsure of whether your injury may require surgery (especially those with chronic back pain, neck pain, etc).  This is another area where the OTW program excels.  Your OTW doctor is able to examine, diagnose, and then communicate with you regarding your current options for care.  Sometimes you may qualify for treatment in the OTW program, and other times it may be advised that you consult with a surgeon.  However, through the OTW program, you are ensured that the possibility of conservative care is always looked at.

Some of the more common conditions we see in the Orthopedic Total Wellness program include: back pain, neck pain, extremity pain, headaches, whiplash, sport injuries, disc injuries, and sciatic pain.  If you are unsure of whether the OTW program is right for you, the best way to find out is to call and ask.
