Healthy Eating at Park Square Cellar in Lithia

Highlights of a great restaurant which provides healthy, local, and fresh choices.

I would like to highlight a great local restaurant which proves that being healthy, local, and fresh can taste oh so good. Park Square Cellar, located at 16132 Churchview Drive, in the heart of Fish Hawk has been pushing the culinary envelope since 2005. They offer a seasonal menu, which is changed every 90 days, to take advantage of the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats available.

This restaurant is one of my top choices when I want to have a great tasting and healthy meal while staying in western Hillsborough county. Their Cellar Salad is a favorite of mine which contains spinach, tomato, red onion, mission figs, blue cheese, candied walnuts and a red wine vinaigrette. You can also top this off with chicken, grouper, or steak to increase the protein. A unique and creative twist you will notice is that they offer edamame to start your meal instead of a traditional bread basket. This is great not only for those who are calorie conscious, but also those of us who are avoiding the inflammatory aspects of bread/grain.

Their chef driven kitchen also can say that all food is made in-house, and nothing is ever flash frozen. As an added bonus, their proprietor, Mary Sarkisian, is very active in the local community both online and offline. Their Facebook page at will keep you continually updated on menu items, community events, and musical guests. For those of us in Brandon/Lithia/Valrico who are looking for healthy food made with quality ingredients, the Park Square Cellar fits the bill.
