Just Like Them

Why be chosen, set apart, and holy when you can be just like the secular world? I fear it's a lesson American is learning at great cost.

While most people remember the Israelites demanding a king so they could be “just like everyone else” as actually occurring in 1 Samuel 8, Yehoveh knew that sad day was coming from the beginning.

All the way back in Deuteronomy 15, in the Torah, He said in verses 14-15 ...

“When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, and you possess it and live in it, and you say, ‘I will set a king over me like all the nations who are around me,’ you shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses, one from among your countrymen you shall set as king over yourselves; you may not put a foreigner over yourselves who is not your countryman’.”

Yehoveh already knew that His Chosen and Set Apart People would demand to be common, to be like everyone else, and to be “of” rather than “in” the world rather than to be holy.

On this election day, it seems crystal clear - to me anyway - what our demand to be common and politically correct and of the world has cost us and our country. We have two major party candidates who will both continue ...

- The shedding of innocent blood

- The perversion of traditional marriage

- The concession to give away Yehoveh’s land (Israel), which is not ours to give, in the name of compromise, political correctness, and faux world peace

What, exactly, has this gotten us? “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?” Mark 8:36

I believe that we have forfeited much, and to our ultimate destruction.

Today, on the day you read this, approximately 3,200 babies will have been slaughtered. On average, a baby is murdered every 23 seconds in the United States.

Today, on the day you read this, four more states will vote on whether marriage will remain as one man, one woman. Be praying that the sanctity of marriage will be upheld.

Yehoveh disciplined the Israelites over and over and over for their idolatrous behavior. He instructed Joshua to clean house in Canaan, a land overrun by idolatry.

Here in America, we’ve become just as idolatrous ... we love our “freedom to choose” to murder our children and our “freedom to choose” how we want to live outside of traditional, biblical marriage. We yearn to be like everyone else, to fit in, to be common rather than set apart and holy. Yehoveh, His Word, and His Son all fall somewhere at the bottom of the totem pole, if they even show up on any given day.

“That” freedom will come at a price none of us can even begin to fathom. To think that we, American Christians, somehow get a pass on our behavior when God’s Chosen and Set Apart people did not ... is beyond foolish.

At some point in time, probably sooner than any of us can imagine, the “freedom to choose” will have passed away. Choose life. Choose biblical values. Choose TODAY whom you will serve ... choose Yeshua HaMashiach.
