Winthrop Business Closes But Continues to Serve Customers With Website

The Aroma Bath & Body Boutique will continue to serve customers through its website and phone orders.

Although Sherry Wilson has closed the doors of her Aroma Bath & Body Boutique in Winthrop Town Centre, she's by no means shutting down her business.

Wilson said she will continue to serve her growing customer base through her website, phone orders and by appointment.

Making the decision to close her shop at Winthrop wasn't easy, she said.

"I did not want to have to close but, unfortunately, due to family health and circumstances, I was forced to," she said. "It was a wonderful six months in my little boutique and I was so fortunate to meet so many great new people."

However, Wilson's handmade soaps, lotions, scrubs and candles, along with her custom-embroidered totes, towels and tutus, are still available to customers through her website.

"I will be giving my website a fresh new look in the months to come and I am looking forward to doing a lot out in our community in 2013 so I can continue to stay connected with all my customers and new friends," she said.

Wilson already had a thriving web-based business when she opened her shop in Winthrop.

She'd been creating handmade, all-natural soaps for years and giving them to friends and family members as gifts. They encouraged her to begin selling her soaps.

As her personalized soap, lotion and scrub gift baskets became more in demand, Wilson purchased her own monogram machine and taught herself to use it, enabling her to customize gift baskets for clients as well as add other products with the customer's choice of initials or names to her lineup.

"And the business really took off," she said. That prompted her to open Aroma Bath & Body at 6032 Winthrop Town Centre Ave., Riverview, last summer.

"Everybody likes to receive something unique, something personal, so my personalized gift baskets have become very popular," she said. "I have many regular clients who keep me very busy."

Wilson helps customers create themed gift baskets for baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays and other occasions, and have the items embroidered within two weeks. Once completed, Wilson will even ship the gift baskets to the recipient.
