We started out with , and after weeks of polling to narrow down the field of players, has emerged the champion in Bloomingdale-Riverview Patch’s first-ever customer service competition.
The Coffee House edged by a final tally of 10,190 to 8,967 in the .
Shannon Coughlin, manager of The Coffee House, was thrilled to learn the business had won. She'd placed fliers on the front door and drive-thru window urging customers to vote but said she was overwhelmed by the response, especially the personal shout-outs to her.
A professional barista for about five years, Coughlin worked at Indigo in Tampa prior to moving to Valrico and landing a job at The Coffee House six months ago. She said she prides herself on remembering what everyone drinks and makes an effort to get to know each of her customers.
"I love making people smile and laugh," she said. "It's just knowing that what I say and how I act can make the difference between someone having a good day and a bad day."
