Riverview Sam's Club Set To Open

Activity abounds at 10427 Big Bend Road in Riverview as the new Sam's Club No 4801 nears completion and 170 newly hired permanent employees ready themselves for the March 10 grand opening.

The 137,000-square-foot warehouse magnet, which features a pharmacy, optical shop, bakery, photo department and more, is located at 10385 Big Bend Road, on the corner of Big Bend Road and U.S. 301. It anchors the Riverview Bell Plaza, already home to well-known restaurants such as Applebee's,Village Inn, Sonic Drive-In and East Coast Pizza as well the Alley at Southshore, a popular 32-lane bowling spot, arcade and bar and grill.

Sam's Club manager Tracy Snelgrove of Valrico is excited about the location of the newest store.

"This is a great area and one of the fastest-growing communities in the state of Florida," she stated. "I think we'll have a lot of customers."

Riverview resident Tonya Satterbaum agrees.

"This will be such a convenient location for so many. I have been a Sam's Club member for years but I didn't like the hassle of trying to get to Brandon. I'm so excited for the Riverview Sam's Club to open."

Sam's Club is a members-only business and those wishing to obtain membership cards before opening day may do so by visiting the hiring center in the strip mall at 10275 Big Bend Road. Local Walmart stores also have Sam's Club representatives stationed on site to sign up members. With three levels of memberships available ranging from $35 to $100 per year, there is a value to suit everyone.

Riverview Sam's Club's grand opening and ribbon-cutting with the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce will take place March 10. The ceremony begins at 8 a.m. with the Riverview High School JROTC presenting the colors. A ribbon-cutting photo will be taken at 8:30 a.m. The community is invited.
