Riverview Chamber Hosts Annual Dinner, Awards Celebration

The Gold Rush-themed event will take place Friday, Jan. 18 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Sporting cowboy hats and boots, Riverview business leaders will hightail it over to the International Independent Showmen's Association tonight for a Gold Rush-themed celebration.

The Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce will host its annual dinner and awards celebration Friday, Jan. 18 from 5 to 9 p.m. at 6915 Riverview Dr., Riverview.

In addition to a barbecue dinner by Lupton's Catering, the evening will feature line dance lessons, the Clik-Me-Quik Photo Booth and a "Mining for Gold" activity hosted by West Coast Jewelry Consultants, featuring a prize valued at $2,500.

During the evening, incoming chamber president, Donna Lee Fore, will take the reins from outgoing president, Ed Booth, who will be honored for his year of service.

In addition, the chamber will name its Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Margy Watkins Volunteer of the Year and the chamber's Ambassador of the Year.

The 2013 Honorary Mayor of Riverview, Elijah Heath, will be formally introduced as well.
