Greater Riverview Chamber Busts Membership Goal During Drive

The chamber hosted its most successful membership drive.

The Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce has just completed the most successful membership drive in its 46-year history, increasing its membership by 44 percent.

The drive was organized by The Oliver Group with help from current chamber members and staff who invited nonmembers to join the chamber.

The result was 167 new members, bringing the total membership of the chamber to 547 members.

“This great accomplishment was made possible by our members; they are giving of their time, are dedicated and are make a difference in this community," commented chamber Executive Director Tanya Doran.
 
Chamber members formed teams and made it a fun competition. Seven teams raced to bring in the most new members. The Chamber Champions Team with captain Lisa Kennedy of Alley Cat Pest Control, the current honorary mayor of Riverview, secured the most new members, 46. The second-place Riverview Raiders Team diligently worked to bring in 43 new members.  

Over this two-day membership drive, chamber member Sandy Lee, Integrity Insurance and Investments, signed up14 new members and won a 32-inch flat-screen TV for securing the most new members. Erik Butler of the TakeOut Butler and Ed Booth, chamber president and owner of Huth and Booth Photography, each signed up 13 new members.

Established in 1966, the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce has a long history of making a difference, said Doran. "Its purpose is to create a family environment that ensures the success of the community, and its members."

Adhering to its core values of leadership, fun, teamwork, diversity and integrity, the chamber promotes the economic, civic, commercial, industrial and educational interests of the greater Riverview area.

"To achieve this end, the chamber recognizes that our strength is not only measured by the commitment we have to our members but by the support and involvement of our members in the GRCC as well," said Doran.
