Pet Owners Take Advantage of Low-Cost Vaccination Clinic

With somewhat apprehensive canine companions in tow, more than 100 residents headed to Bloomingdale Pet Supply, 3110 Lithia-Pinecrest Rd., Valrico, Saturday, Jan. 26, to take advantage of a low-cost vaccination clinic.

Among those taking advantage of Saturday's clinic was Valrico resident Tim Wyatt, accompanied by his two daughters, Jillian and Jordan, and dog, Teddy.

His motivation, he said, was the same as most of the residents who lined up at Bloomingdale Pet Supply with their pets: saving money.

EZ Pet Clinic offers a one-year rabies shot for $10 and a three-year rabies shot for $25. The cost of other preventive vaccinations range from $10 to $25.

In addition, the clinic provides on-site heartworm tests for $25 and sells heartworm and flea prevention products including Frontline, Heartguard, Comfortis, K9 Advantix, Trifexis, Advantage and Revolution at a discounted price.

EZ Pet Clinic veterinary assistant and Valrico resident Jolene Howard said the clinics have proven very popular among pet owners who not only appreciate saving money but like the convenience of the weekend clinics that don't require appointments.

"At some locations, we've had more than 300 people show up," said Howard.

If you missed Saturday's clinic, never fear. Howard said EZ Pet Clinic will be offering monthly clinics at Bloomingdale Pet Supply.
