New Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market Set to Open March 28 in Riverview

The new store, which is about half the size of a traditional Wal-Mart, opens 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28 in the Bloomingdale Hills Shopping Center.

The new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in the Bloomingdale Hills Shopping Center in Riverview is set to open March 28, the company announced Monday on its website.

The 57,756-square-foot store, at 10863 Bloomingdale Ave., is one of more than 160 Wal-Mart Neighborhood Markets around the country. About half the size of a traditional Wal-Mart, the store will offer "quick access to low-cost groceries, prescriptions and household products," the company said.

, located just west of Providence Road in a space previously occupied by Albertsons, will open at 8 a.m. March 28 following a 7:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The neighborhood markets feature fresh produce, meat and dairy products, frozen foods, dry goods and staples, health and beauty aids, stationery and paper goods, a drive-through pharmacy, deli foods, bakery items, canned and packaged goods, condiments and spices, pet supplies, household supplies and a one-hour photo center.
