Kids R Kids Set to Open in FishHawk
A new Kids R Kids location will open in late spring behind Mosaic Co. on FishHawk Boulevard.
Kids R Kids is coming to FishHawk Ranch.
The new location is conveniently located behind Mosaic Co. off FishHawk Boulevard. The new facility has the capacity to enroll up to 240 students and is set to open in late spring, just in time for summer camp.
Co-owners Keith Balot and Ben Fernades also own the Valrico Kids R Kids located on Lynx Paw Trail, which has been in operation for seven years. They chose the FishHawk Ranch area for their second location for several reasons.

“The proximity for military families and commuting families to MacDill Air Force Base or Tampa area is one the reasons for choosing this location,” Cara Jahnke, the director of operations, said.
“We live in FishHawk and believe it is a family-oriented community with the best schools in the area,” added Balot.

The owners are also active in the FishHawk Ranch community, participating in events like Light the Night and the FishHawk Ranch Pumpkin Festival.
The school offers a variety of care options including full-time, part-time and drop-in daycare. Drop-in daycare allows children who are not enrolled in a regular program to be dropped off for one day of care at a time based on availability.
Summer camp is also available for preschool and school-age children.
Kids R Kids is APPLE accredited, which means it adheres to the Criteria for High-Quality Early Childhood Programs. Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment (APPLE) allows for lower teacher-student ratios than are required by the state of Florida. It is also the first preschool in the area to be a LEADS certified childcare center.
“Our online Watch Me Grow viewing system, clear glass walls between all classrooms, degreed staff in each classroom, makes Kids R Kids different from other daycares,” said Cara Jahnke.
Hours of operation for the new location will be from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Before and after-school care is available. Kids R Kids enrolls children from ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age with age-appropriate programs.
The FishHawk location is now enrolling. Enrollment fees are $80 for infants through preschool and $50 for school-age children. Information on tuition can be obtained by calling the Valrico location at 813-657-6200. Mosaic employees will be offered a discount on tuition.
