Homecoming Week Goes to the Dogs

A tailgate party, pep rally and royal court announcement are some of the activities planning for Homecoming Week at Canine Cabana.

Homecoming is no longer just for high school and college students.

This year 9708 Carr Rd., Riverview, is hosting a full week of homecoming activities for the family pet.

Monday, Sept. 17, will be Greek Day at Canine Cabana. Dogs are encouraged to wear their togas or sport an outfit representing their owners' favorite fraternity or sorority.

Tuesday, Sept. 18, pooches are encouraged to sport their favorite color.

Wednesday, Sept. 19, is Pajama Day at Canine Cabana.

Thursday Sept. 20th is Wacky Tacky Mis-Matchy Day.

Ant the celebration will culminate Friday Sept. 21, with School Spirit Day. Dogs can show off their pride for favorite sports teams.

“I am so excited for this new event," said Canine Cabana co-owner Kendall Duncan. "I am most excited to see all the dogs dressed up for each of the themed days, and to dress up myself. It’s always rewarding to be so involved with all of our guests.”

A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to A Kid’s Place in Brandon. A Kid’s Place's mission is to protect and care for neglected and abused children who have been removed from their homes by providing comfort and safety in a stable and nurturing environment.

Canine Cabana is a premium pet-lodging facility offering overnight accommodations, doggie daycare and positive training.
