Grow Financial Celebrates ‘National Credit Union Youth Week’ April 22-28

and credit unions across the country are coming together to dedicate a week to their youngest members, titled National Credit Union Youth Week.

This year’s theme, “Be a Credit Union Super Saver,” promotes the value of saving money so children can build financial strength for the future. This year, Youth Week will take place from April 22-28, and Grow Financial hopes to open 40 new youth savings accounts.

As part of the Youth Week celebration, all 18 Grow Financial branches will be distributing lollipops, activity books and piggy banks to the children of parents who open a new youth savings account or make a deposit to an existing youth savings account.

In addition to participating in National Credit Union Youth Week each year, Grow Financial Federal Credit Union offers a special club just for children ages 1-10 called the bugg club. The bugg club takes the serious subject of money and makes it fun for kids to learn through games, quizzes and activities. Children enrolled in the bugg club also receive special incentives for saving money, as well as 20 percent off daily admission to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.

This innovative youth savings program has received numerous marketing awards and recognition from the Credit Union industry since it was introduced in April 2010. Parents who wish to enroll their children in the bugg club may simply stop by any Grow Financial branch location and open a youth savings account with their child. The child will then be invited to join the bugg club and receive an official membership packet after registering.
