Coffee Talk

The South Shore Young Professionals will host a Coffee Talk Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Apollo's Bistro, 6520 Richies Way, Apollo Beach. It is free for members, $5 for guests or free for those who bring a new, unwrapped toy for the SSYP's Toys for Tots holiday toy drive.

Speaker, Joel Meek, agent and owner of All Bay Insurance Group, will present, “Protecting Yourself as a Young Professional." Topics will include an overview of life insurance and liability insurance and how individuals can protect themselves, their businesses and their families.

Originally from Tennessee, Meek completed his bachelor’s degree in finance in 1998. Following college, he accepted an analyst position for a local trucking company. After two years, he began his insurance career as a financial analyst for Allstate Insurance in Nashville, TN. A few years later, he was moved to Allstate’s corporate office in Northbrook, IL, where he served as a financial manager and consultant. In 2006, he and his wife (Irma) moved to Florida to open All Bay Insurance Group. The Meeks currently reside in Ruskin with their two children (Amelia and Brody).
