Couple to Open New Anytime Fitness Center in Riverview

Brian Kleinschmidt already operates a gym on Bloomingdale Avenue.

Riverview fitness enthusiasts are about to benefit from a real-life love story, giving them more options and convenience for their New Year goals.

Anytime Fitness, available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, is opening a new facility across from Riverview High School at 11252 Boyette Rd., Riverview. Another new gym is going up on Brandon Boulevard as well.

Owner Brian Kleinschmidt projects opening them early this spring.

Kleinschmidt is no stranger to a competitive environment. He already owns the Anytime Fitness on Bloomingdale Avenue and competed in TV's The Amazing Race.

However, it may have been Kleinschmidt’s romantic side that has had the biggest impact in his life.

“Our gym is what it is, and I am who I am, because of my girlfriend who became our manager, Mika,” said Kleinschmidt.

Kleinschmidt and Mika McGee were high school classmates at Riverview High School but hadn’t seen each other for the 10 years since they had graduated. But then they reconnected.

“Mika had lost a significant amount of weight in her own personal health journey," said Kleinschmidt. "I don’t know if Mika saved her own life by losing all that weight, but I do know that she saved my life by giving me hope and encouragement when I needed it most.”

Anytime Fitness in Riverview is now accepting memberships with no enrollment fee. Members may use the Bloomingdale facility across from the Winthrop Town Centre at Bloomingdale and Providence until the new gym is open. All classes are included with the membership, plus each member gets a complimentary fitness assessment with a personal trainer.
