Coldwell Banker Ranks Local Real Estate Markets

Coldwell Banker Real Estate has unveiled its 2011 Home Listing Report.

Coldwell Banker Real Estate has unveiled  its 2011 Home Listing Report, which compares the average home listing price of four-bedroom, two-bathroom properties listed on coldwellbanker.com between September 2010 and March 2011. This year, the HLR gives an overview of 2,300 North American housing markets. 

The survey reviewed 129 real estate markets in Florida and found Hastings led the list as the most affordable market, while the report identified Palmetto Bay as the state’s most expensive market. Both the state and national data and can be found at: http://hlr.coldwellbanker.com/.

In Hastings, the average home listing price was approximately $74,910 while the average price of a home in Palmetto Bay was $449,353. The difference of nearly $375,000 between most expensive and most affordable Florida housing markets is just one of the many findings in this comprehensive market report.

Compared to the national average of $293,251, the average four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Florida overall was $218,670.

  • Riverview was the 26th cheapest out of the 51 Florida cities reviewed. The average home is Riverview is $157,021.
  • Brandon is ranked 32nd cheapest with an average home price of $165,000.
  • Lithia is 37th on the list with an average home price of $168,818.
  • And Valrico ranked 40th on the list with an average home price of $171,960.
