Anytime Fitness to Open in August

A 24- hour, seven-day-a-week gym is opening at the corner of Providence Road and Bloomingdale Avenue.

Fitness is not just a way of life for new Anytime Fitness franchise owner, Brian Kleinschmidt. It is a passion.

Kleinschmidt is a Bloomingdale native who has traveled around the country as a sports marketer and was a contestant on Season 15 of the television show, "The Amazing Race." Although he and his partner did not win the race, Kleinschmidt said the competition helped him realize his dream of opening his own business.

While Kleinschmidt was traveling around the country, he was introduced to Anytime Fitness.

"I enjoyed the convenience of being able to work out when I wanted, either very early in the morning or late into the evening after dinner," he said.

That is a huge draw to Anytime Fitness facilities; they are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Located in the old Movie Gallery location at the corner of Providence Road and Bloomingdale Avenue, the new gym will be approximately 6,300 square feet, "one of the largest in the state," stated Kleinschmidt.

The facility will have standard gym equipment with cardio machines (ellipticals, treadmills and stair steppers), free weights, and weight machines that assist in proper lifting techniques.

"Having a larger square footage allows us to have private showers, a group fitness room, and also feature a water massage table," Kleinschmidt said.

When asked why fitness was important, Kleinschmidt stated, "You either pay for it now or pay for it later. You only have one body and mind to keep in shape, so you have to make it part of your lifestyle."

The new gym is scheduled to open in mid-August, but is taking memberships now. The normal enrollment fee for Anytime Fitness is $50, but the enrollment fee will be half price until the gym opens. As another way to say thank-you for enrolling, Anytime Fitness is offering one free month if you enroll before opening.

Gym membership runs $29.99 per month and provides access to all of the amenities the facility has to offer. As an extra incentive, have a buddy or colleague enroll, mentioning your name, and receive another free month. With your membership to this particular location, you also receive access to more than 1,600 clubs throughout the country at no additional charge.

For as little as $1 per day, you can stay in shape physically in an environment that is more like a family, Kleinschmidt said who hopes to know every member's name to provide a more personalized experience. "I want members to have a great workout and a great time in the process."

This is the first franchise Kleinschmidt has opened and he said he want to make sure it was located in his hometown to "give back to the community I grew up."
