Angelina's Fine Italian Cuisine Closes Its Kitchen in Valrico

Angelina's Fine Italian Cuisine has closed its doors in Valrico, but a new restaurant is planned to take its place in Brandon.

The Angelina's italian restaurant is closed in Valrico, across the street from Lithia Springs Elementary School, just north of the entrance to the River Hills Country Club and residential community.

In 2003, Anthony Cimino brought his Neopolitan cuisine to Brandon when he opened Angelina's Italian Restaurant at 111 East Brandon Blvd. The restaurant had done a brisk eat-in and take-out trade and quickly became a favorite of Italian cooking aficionados with dishes such as Linguini al Frutti di Mare, a shellfish entrée prepared in the tradition of backstreet Napoli.

Having lost the lease on the Brandon Boulevard property, Cimino sought a new location, which is what brought him to the Valrico storefront in 2011, at 4351 Lynx Paw Trail, with frontage on Lithia Pinecrest Road.

An update posted Feb. 18 on the Angelina's Fine Italian Cuisine Facebook page makes note of the restaurant's closing and the future plans of the eatery's owner:

It's a sad day as I have closed Angelina's after 13 years. But the good news is I am opening a new restaurant called La Bella Notte back in Brandon.

That restaurant reportedly will be at Brandon Boulevard and Valrico Road.
